It is finally fall in L.A., and after weeks of 90 plus temperatures, I am ready to embrace boots, sweaters, and hats like the rest of the county. Today’s post will focus on fall prints. I am a girl who loves bold print and pattern. It is a rare occasion to see me in all solids, and even more rare to see me in all black. Without really thinking about it, I realized that many of the pieces I have bought for this season are print. In this article, I am featuring mostly jewel tones in my color story. You will find shades of sapphire, emerald, garnet, and amber throughout this post.
1: Tie Neck Dress
When I first received this dress, I was worried that it was a bit short. Once I put it on, I realized that the length was appropriate enough for me at 40, but short enough not to look frumpy with the tie neck. I am obsessed with anything that has a bow or tie neck, but this style balances on a fine line between librarian chic and just downright too conservative. This look is polished and chic paired with these tall suede scrunchy boots and an iconic belt.

2: Peplum Blouse and Red Jeans
This print blouse is so full of details that I just could not capture in these photos. It has a nice flowy peplum at the waist and bell shaped sleeves that tie. It also has a small, high collar with a tie in the back. The cut of blouse felt a little equestrian to me, so I paired it with some high boots, a hat, and skinny colorful jeans to keep that feeling with this look. Sometime Pika, our standard poodle, likes to photo bomb. This time he made the cut because he posed nicely for the shot!

3: Black Floral Dress
This great fall dress is from one of my favorite new, female owned boutiques, Outdoor Style Apparel. This online store specializes in well priced California cool apparel that is epitome of affordable luxury. For 15% off at Outdoor Style Apparel, use my personal code, STYLENAV15. This loose fitting floral pattern dress has beautiful crochet lace insets, as shown in the photo below. This dress is great because of its comfortable bohemian style, and it goes perfect with these high heeled thigh high boots. I am obsessed with these Steve Madden boots, which are linked below. I own them in both colors. They are stretchy, comfortable, and they look great with both short dresses and skinny pants. The necklace that is shown in detail below is a one of a kind piece made by my friends at Hebel Design.

4. Stained Glass Dress
This unique dress is also from Outdoor Style Apparel. I love this piece for it’s combination of jewel tones and the print reminds me of stained glass. This loose fitting dress has a lace trim along the uneven hemline, and has interesting back details as shown below. I wanted to bring out the green tones in this print with emerald green accessories. This cross body bag is from a new line at Target called A New Day. Handbags are usually the one place where I typically splurge on designer labels, but this green camera bag is so cute and looks great for the money. It comes in several colors and at less than $30, I just might acquire them all! My green boots are from couple of seasons ago at Nine West, but I have found a similar pair that I have linked below.

5: Floral Back Sweater
This top is a unique hybrid that is part sweater and part silk blouse. I am so obsessed with this piece that I bought it in 2 other patterns. The back and front bottom are trimmed in this silky stained glass inspired print, and the sleeves have a tie detail at the wrist, as shown below. This top is a great way to dress up denim with a high heeled boot and a gold bag.

6: Sapphire Ruffle Dress
The last look of the day is this ruffle print dress from Loft. I am in no way usually a petite, but I bought this dress in petite for the shorter length and I am really happy with how it looks. I paired the dress with the same Steve Madden thigh high boots pictured above in black, but this time in taupe, and a navy hat from Banana Republic.
