Always a fresh spring classic, gingham seems to be making a larger than ever appearance in stores for spring 2018. This light and airy fabric is not only cool to wear, but it can be quite colorful, and absolutely screams spring/summer chic. Gingham has many references from 60’s mod, to British school girl uniforms, to Dorothy of Oz fame, to picnic table cloths. Perhaps the most historic fashion moment for gingham was when Brigitte Bardot famously walked down the aisle in a pink gingham dress in 1959, causing a shortage of the checked fabric in France!
Below I have rounded up some of my favorite Summer 2018 gingham looks that made the cut to my own closet. My looks are, as always, affordable at well under the $100 price point. I have also included a selection of current gingham pieces at several price points, should myself or Ms. Bardot inspire you to let the gingham into your own wardrobe, just in time for summer. For more of my favorite spring trends, check out this post and this one as well.
