Active wear is a big trend in fashion that just keeps gaining steam year after year. Apparently the must have denim labels that all the cool girls wore when I was in high school have been replaced with active wear labels for today’s teenagers. In other words, the Guess jeans of the early 90’s are the Lululemon leggings of today. Do you remember this video that went viral a few years back? It still makes me laugh every time I see it! I am that girl in just about every clip!
In my constant striving to truly be active every day (click here to read more about that), I own way more active wear than I care to admit. (The people at my pilates studio say they never see me wear the same thing twice.) I guess I live by the idea that new workout clothes are motivating. With all of the active wear in my closet, I get at least 95% of it from 3 key stores. In this article, I have highlighted for you my favorite places to buy workout clothes. You know, in case you need to do a little shopping for motivation purposes as well.
Fabletics:
I get almost as many comments from people about their fear of joining Fabletics as I do compliments about how much they love the pieces that I wear. I really want to set the record straight about the Fabletics business model. You are not locked into making a purchase every month, as it is not a subscription. However, in order to shop this online store, you have to join and log on to your account every month. They want to encourage you to visit their site often to see what is new, as they release new product each month.
As a member, you must log on to your account sometime between the 1st and the 5th of each month. You have to either click the button that says “skip the month”, or you have to buy something for at least $49.95. If you don’t do this, they will charge you the 49.95 and you will then have a credit to use on future purchases. They do send a reminder email just about every day at the beginning of each month. I also put a reminder in my calendar on the first of every month to go to the site.
Now that we got all that out of the way, I will talk about the product. I LOVE Fabletics! I have been a member for over 3 years now, thanks to another blogger that turned me on to the brand. The quality of their product is constantly getting better, and I still own and wear every piece I have purchased over the years. I am not afraid to tell you that I am totally addicted to this brand. Although I own a million pairs of their leggings, my current favorites are the high-waisted power hold 7/8. I also love their T-shirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts for lounging. Basically I live in Fabletics, not just for working out, but also when I want to be comfortable around the house. The clothes make me feel fit, beautiful, and comfortable all at the same time.
If you are interested in joining Fabletics, use the link here to get 2 pairs of leggings for just $24 when you join. Below are some of my more recent pieces I have purchased from the brand.

Old Navy:
Old Navy has been my go to store for active wear for as long as I can remember. I feel like they were doing affordable active wear long before it was a thing. Like Fabletics, I feel like they have improved their fabrics and fit over time. There was a moment when I was not a fan of the fabrics they used, and the pants rolled at the waist, which I hate! I am happy to report that Old Navy leggings are better than ever these days. I love that colors are often repeated each season, so you can usually match pieces from year to year. Also, their basic yoga leggings are the best for lounging, and I have several of them in black. In true Old Navy style, the sales on their active wear are amazing, and it is sometimes unheard of how many outfits you can buy for just $100. Below are a couple of my more recent workout looks from Old Navy.

Roam.e:
Roam.e is a local boutique in my neighborhood. They also have a full website and a truck that they drive around to farmer’s markets in the area. This boutique has a beautiful curation of everything from great baby gifts to everyday clothes for moms on the go. My favorite category that Roam.e has to offer is their workout gear. The two ladies who own this boutique are all about leading an active lifestyle, they have even been known to hold Pilates classes in the courtyard outside their boutique. They carry multiple brands of active wear in the store, and I always seem to find a new pair of leggings I can’t live without every time I go. In fact, just yesterday I came home with these. Below are a couple of outfits I have from the active wear collection at Roam.e.
