For part 3 of my ongoing series of transition wardrobe capsules, I chose a black, pink, white, and grey color palette. While I have been bringing out more of my fall items lately, especially boots, I am still mixing my looks with pieces from my summer wardrobe. Although parts of the country are finally experiencing fall, many of us are still seeing the weather go up and down. This is making it difficult to focus fully on fall attire. I hope this capsule of items pulled together in different ways helps inspire you to dress during this strange and unpredictable fall weather.
I used a similar building block for this capsule as in the 2 previous posts by starting with a great layering piece. In this case it is a pink faux leather waterfall jacket from Just Fab. I wanted to say a quick word about Just Fab. I have been a customer of theirs for a couple of years now and I buy several pieces from them each season. If you are not familiar, Just Fab is an online only store that releases new styles each month. It is sort of a subscription in the sense that you have to visit their website at the start of every month and either make a purchase, or “skip the month”. In exchange for that step, you have access to amazing prices and even better sales on great current fashion forward styles. For me, I don’t mind having to look monthly, and they send several reminder emails to log on before the 5th of the month when they charge you $39.95 for a store credit to use later. The few times I did forget to look before the 5th and got charged a credit, I promptly went on the site and found several things that I wanted, so there is never a problem spending my credit right away.
I find that the quality for the price at Just Fab to be outstanding. Especially because they run promotions constantly on top of their already low prices. Just Fab is known for their shoes, but I personally prefer their clothes instead, as I am quite selective about my shoes. I tend not to buy shoes that are made of synthetics, and that is exclusively what they sell.
Nevertheless, my primary building block for this post is this great Just Fab jacket. If you are not already a Just Fab member, and are not interested in signing up for the VIP program, but like this pink jacket, I have linked a similar jacket from a traditional online boutique in “shop my looks” at the end of this article.
Outfit Group 1:
In outfit group 1, I incorporated a high neck short sleeved floral top from my summer wardrobe with both looks. In the warm weather look, I paired it with black shorts and wedge sandals. I don’t often wear shorts after Labor day, but I think with darker colors it work on those hot fall days. The wedge sandals linked here are from one of my favorite boutique shoe lines called Ssh-oes. I have mentioned them on previous posts, but again I will stress that they are the most comfortable and reasonably priced shoes I own! In the cooler weather look, I paired the Just Fab pink jacket I mentioned earlier with my favorite black jeans from Just USA. The high-heeled booties from Nine West are a few seasons old, but I linked similar ones in “Shop my Looks” below.
Outfit Group 2:
In outfit group 2, I used this print off the shoulder dress that I got this summer at a local boutique. Although it is no longer available, I have linked similar ones below. This dress makes a great evening look with a pink clutch and rose gold sandals in the first outfit. In the second outfit, the look becomes more wear to work by adding the pink jacket and my tall black heeled leather boots from Nine West. I finish this look with my classic Chanel bag for a sophisticated dressy fall outfit.
Outfit Group 3:
In outfit group 3, the common piece is this beautiful blouse that I just picked up at Loft about 2 weeks ago. I have to give a little plug here because I am not sure what changed at Loft in the last year, but recently I find myself shopping at this store all the time. For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you know I posted a lot of summer looks from Loft, and there will be many more to come this fall as well. In the first outfit, I decided to be daring with white jeans after Labor Day. I actually love white jeans in the fall and winter, especially when paired with boots to give them a more winter feel. The booties in the first look are made by Ugg and are insanely comfortable. The bag is from All Saints, which is my new affordable luxury bag obsession. Both the booties and bag are from Nordstom and are in the “Shop My Looks” section below.
In the second outfit, I paired the blouse again with the pink jacket and this time gray jeans from Old Navy. I recently discovered Old Navy’s Rockstar Built in Sculpt jeans and I have fallen in love. They have been especially great for me in the last year as I have recovered from pregnancy because they really hold things in where necessary. The gray boots in the second outfit are from this random little boutique I found on my last trip to Paris , but I found a similar pair which I have linked below. I also added a hat, because if you haven’t figured out by now, I love hats and I never post a Fashion Nav article without one!
